Secret Lagoon — Iceland's Oldest Pool on the Golden Circle
Built in 1891 in the village of Flúðir, Gamla Laugin — the Old Pool — is the oldest swimming pool in Iceland. Natural hot springs keep the water warm all year, and a little geyser bubbles and erupts just beside the pool. Simple, authentic and full of character.

The Experience
A Pool with History
Gamla Laugin was built in 1891, and local children once learned to swim here. After years of disuse it was restored and reopened in 2014, keeping its natural, unfussy charm.
Natural Hot Springs
The pool is fed by the hot springs around it, so the water stays at 38–40°C all year. Walk the small path around the pool to see the springs steaming — and Litli Geysir, which erupts every few minutes.
Easy on the Golden Circle
Flúðir is a short detour from Gullfoss and Geysir, so the Secret Lagoon is a lovely way to finish a Golden Circle day in warm water before the drive back to Reykjavík.
